This Week At JOY
March 8 - 14
All the ladies got home from the beach.
Several that I have spoken with have just gone on and on with the news of
the Retreat Center's facelift. They all seemed to have had a wonderful
time, but as usual, it was a little short.
Monday: Tonight the Chimes
group will meet at 6:00. If you haven't gotten all of your music marked,
come in a little early to do so; the church will be open. We have a lot of
wonderful music to practice!
Tuesday: T
-
Men-A-Plenty will be meeting at the
Beacon at 8:00. I'm not sure who will be leading the discussion, but
there will still be breakfast and fellowship.
-
The WELCA Ruth group will meet at
9:00 at Espresso Cafe at Publix. All women of Joy are invited and
encouraged to attend.
Wednesday:
-
9:30 - Bible Studies will be held in
the morning as usual with Mary Ann Bethea's group
-
10:00 with Pastor Lane.
-
4:45 - Children's Choir will begin.
Parents continue to pick your children up at their choir room so they
won't get misplaced in the confusion of Wednesday in Lent supper.
-
5:30 - Lenten supper: If you have not
signed up for this Wednesday's supper and service, please e-mail or call
Becky so she can add you to the list. The list is a little shorter than
it has been, so we don't want to be less prepared than we need to be.
(At the same time, we don't want to make extra if you are not coming.)
-
6:15 - Lenten service will begin
-
7:00 - Adult Choir will resume as
soon as the service is over.
Sunday:
-
Kelly needs a final head count for
the youth going to Camp Kinard. You don't want to be left out. It's
just overnight Friday and you'll return on Saturday afternoon.
-
Tickets are still available for the
Pancake Breakfast.
-
Mary Ann Bethea will be holding Camp
Joy Task Force Meeting at 11:30, and she will also meet with the "small
group" group at 4:30.
-
There will be an All Ministry Team
Meeting at 5:30 that has been called by the Council.
If you are on any
team at all, please plan to attend this important meeting.
-
Joy Council will meet at 7:00. (Be
sure to see the e-mail from Mary Ann sent out earlier today!)
Regarding the Easter Garden flowers: You
are welcome to bring your own potted flowers by Good Friday Service, to be
placed in the church for Easter services. If you are unable to purchase a
flower yourself, you can give $10 and an
Easter/spring flower/plant will be bought for you. We are not guaranteeing
that all the flowers will be the same; they probably will not be the same,
but we will purchase one in your name in honor or in memory of someone you
choose. Complete the form in the bulletin and if you want the staff to
purchase a plant for you, please indicate that on the form and
designate Easter flower on your
check.
If we don't see you before, we'll be
looking for you on Wednesday. Have a great week and look to see what God is
doing in your family.
